He began his voice over career sometime in 1993 in Nashville, Tennessee. It all started when he was trying to make it big into the music business and running his own commercial photography studio. In one of his singing demos in a studio in Nashville, he was asked to voice a few projects. Asking he said, “You mean just talk?” It was then he started to discover his spoken word was a lot better than his singing voice. His spoken voice was more “unique” than his singing voice. Doing a voice over Spring Hill, TN was a totally new career. He then had to start learning this new career. It was totally a new form of expression. He then had to refine his craft through local theatre performances, on-camera work and acting workshops. As days went by, he found himself voicing TV/radio ads, music promotions, audio books, and corporate videos. As he was voicing ads, he started establishing his deep, warm, rugged and storytelling signature AMERICANA voice. With a voice, face and physical presence that perfectly match, Rick Lance the voice over, pursued his on-camera work.
