Petra Alluis, Director of Educational Development for the Judgment Recovery Institute, was named Volunteer of the Year at its annual meeting on September 2, 2014. Thomas Williams, CEO of the Judgment Recovery Institute and Dana Rodriguez, Chief Coordinator with the National Bureau of Judgment Enforcement, presented the award. It is the third year in a row that Alluis has been honored for her tireless work to promote, educate other students, graduates and educators. Alluis donated over 1,000 hours of her time to the institute last year. She continues to be a vital asset in a number of areas, such as research, mentoring, enforcement, education and management advisory.“There are so many other volunteers who have contributed so much to the growth and success of the Judgment Recovery Institute, I am simply just one of them and very honored to be part of this amazing team of generous professionals who give so much to help others”, said Alluis. “Education remains at the heart of our mission and I look forward to another year of providing education, support and encouragement for the current and future students of the Judgment Recovery Institute.”
Since 2009, Alluis has been actively working to guide Judgment Recovery Institute towards the attainment of its mission “Being a volunteer takes more than dedication and passion. Many times it is these same generous people that are on the front lines of public grievances,” said Dana Rodriguez. “Petra continues to be a walking example and inspiration to others, and continues to remind us all of a quote she uses often from the motivational speaker Les Brown, ‘When life knocks you down, try to land on your back. Because if you can look up, you can get up’, she has been an inspiration to watch, learn and follow so with much thankfulness, I am proud to honor her with this reward for the third year,”
