Now on its 15th year, AfricaCom is a three day event from November 13 to 15, which will be held at CTICC Cape Town, in South Africa. This year, the event is focusing on a new theme, “Reaching The Next Frontier for Growth”, and is expected to draw thousands of delegates from the ICT, Media, and Telecom sectors. This makes AfricaCom an exciting platform for both networking and business opportunities with the number of interactive panel discussions, workshops, and demos scheduled during the 3-day event. Over 200 speakers have been invited to deliver lectures and value-packed seminars that will span topics from multiplatform content to broadband applications, convergence to cloud computing. Australian satellite communications specialist, NewSat Ltd, will be attending AfriCom. Steve Rich, NewSat’s Regional Head, will be representing the company during the Summit. The satellite company is set to launch Australia’s first independently-owned commercial satellite, the Jabiru 1, which is part of the Jabiru Satellite Program - a fleet of ka band vessels that will deliver new capacity across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
