In response to the continuing popularity of his images and the demanding craft of digital fine art print making, Harold Davis and his studio are modestly raising their print prices across the board effective January 1, 2013.Harold Davis states, "This price increase represents an attempt to bring prices into line with the amount of effort involved. The fact is that each print is hand-crafted. In particular, printing my botanical images on rice paper involves considerable individual attention to each print. In my studio, we are perfectionists. We throw away many prints that are not quite right for each final version we pull. We want every print that goes to a collector to be just right. Thanks so much to my collectors who make this possible!"
The price increase will apply across the board. As examples, the standard retail price of a 24" X 36" (paper size) print will go up from $1,800 to $2,000. Prints on Moenkopi Unryu "Dragon's Breath" in 24" X 36" will go up from $2,000 to $2,200 retail. Large-size floral panoramas on washi will go up from $2,500 to $3,000 retail.
Davis notes that many of his smaller-size prints are "still very affordable compared to other art mediums."
Prices will be held at their current levels for orders placed through the end of 2012. For more information, please contact the studio at 510.528.9977 or info@photoblog2.com.
