On June 12, 2011, Get That Cheddar (GTC) Entertainment received five (5) awards including two Congressional Achievement Awards! TheCongressional Achievement Award recognizes excellence in initiative, achievement, and service within the community. It is provided by U.S.
Congress in recognition of outstanding achievement in public service and personal development.
With these awards GTC, a major independent label, has soared to new heights and is working diligently
to build on its foundation and mission of becoming the next largest international label.
Rayvon, Artist and CEO of GTC, was the recipient of The Congressional Achievement Award issued by
Congressman Gregory W. Meeks, U.S. House of Representatives. The award was given to Rayvon on behalf of Congressman Meeks by Dr. Taj Rajkumar who is the New York State District Leader (District 31) in Queens . In addition to The Congressional Achievement Award, Rayvon also received a Certificate of Appreciation.
The Certificate of Appreciation Award reads:
"Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of your exceptional contribution and exemplary dedication to Music, Art and Culture, Your unique and remarkable talents are truly the lifeblood of our culture, our community and the great City of New York. Let it be known that it is the sense of this District Leader to pay proper tribute to illustrious individuals whose purposeful endeavors serve to enhance and propagate the cultural heritages in this our multicultural society. It is my honor to recognize this outstanding individual, a true citizen of
distinction."
Rayvon received word from the award committee who was thrilled to have him among the awardees. He said, “I am happy and honored to have received two such prestigious awards. The work that I have done and that of GTC is not easy. Although I work hard I don’t really look for recognition, but it’s very nice to be appreciated!”
Mrs. Angela Midgette-David, President of GTC, was also awarded. She received both The Congressional Achievement Award and Certificate of
Appreciation. Working behind the scenes at GTC Entertainment, Mrs. David strives for excellence in moving GTC into the forefront of the music
industry. Her knowledge and expertise was highly recognized at the gala. Mrs. David said, “Receiving The Congressional Achievement Award and
Certificate of Appreciation is exhilarating and was definitely unexpected. I am excited to have such an honor bestowed on me. My hope is that GTC
Entertainment will be looked upon as a high quality label that exceeds ones expectations.”
Mrs. David was a former artist signed to Next Plateau Records under the name “Majette." Her first hit single was "Miss Winney Winney” which featured Rayvon and was produced by Grammy Winner Producer Easy Mo Bee. Next Plateau Records was the home to musical artists such as Salt N’ Peppa, Sybil, Paper Boy, and many more. Mrs. David honed her skills as an artist before going back to school to receive her M.B.A. in Organizational Management. After which she returned to the industry on the executive side to head up GTC Entertainment with Rayvon as his Business Manager. Mrs. David had this to say about her executive return, “Music is my passion and always will be. As a former recording artist, I am here to educate and protect artists
from the mishaps that may occur from not knowing how the music industry works.
