Electrolysis has been on the scene since the late 1800s and involves permanently removing individual hairs on the face and body with chemical or heat energy. After a fine stainless steel probe is inserted into the hair follicle, a small amount of electric current is introduced into the base of the follicle where the growth center of the hair is located.

The current destroys the hair root and supporting structures and is removed with a tweezer. If electrolysis is performed effectively, the hair should slide out of the follicle with no tweezing sensation. Most areas of the body can be treated with electrolysis, including the eyebrows, face, ears, abdomen, thighs, back, bikini area, breasts and legs.

Electrolysis is typically priced per amount of time the client is treated at each session. Typically, a 15-minute session ranges from $20-$40, a 30-minute session ranges from $40-$60 and a one-hour session ranges from $65-$100.
