GB2GB has issued a formal letter to every major UK news organisation after a detailed national investigation published on 17 March 2026 received no coverage from the UK’s principal broadcasters or national newspapers for more than 24 hours.

The investigation, published by a leading UK newspaper at 14:00 on 17 March, analysed more than 4,000 publicly available personalised-video clips recorded on a commercial online platform. The findings included:

the use of extremist slogans

references linked to antisemitic conspiracy themes

misogynistic remarks

interactions with individuals connected to extremist groups

evidence of content being repurposed into propaganda material

The report has since been widely circulated and syndicated by multiple outlets. However, no major broadcaster — including BBC News, ITV News, Sky News, Channel 4 News, GB News, or LBC — reported on the investigation on the afternoon of the 17th, during evening broadcasts, or in the morning of the 18th. Only one independent outlet published a summary on the day of release.

This absence of coverage has raised concerns about editorial consistency, public-interest obligations, and the balance of reporting across the UK media landscape.

GB2GB’s letter, sent to all national editors, requests written clarification on:

why the investigation was not reported

what editorial criteria were applied

how decisions of this nature align with stated commitments to impartiality

whether coverage will now be considered given the widespread public circulation of the findings

GB2GB emphasises that the concern is not about the subject of the investigation itself, but about the collective editorial decision-making of major UK news organisations and the implications for public-interest journalism.

This marks the first major public action in GB2GB’s ongoing initiative to strengthen transparency, accountability, and trust in UK institutions.
