Whilst a toxic approach to journalism is debasing the notion of a caring more liberal nation by giving written and spoken media platforms airing to the divisive policies of both the Reform and Conservative parties, they are also acting in an undemocratic way which is definitely NOT in the National interest.Bullet points and headlines in the press, repeated everyday with following tv news stations' regurgitations of that same narrative in their 'What the papers say' reinforce that bias twice for each story.
One thing you will never hear from the proponents of criticism of subjects that the owners and editors of the mostly Conservative supporting newspapers choose to attack, is criticism of other members of the media itself about the quality of its reports , which should be news in itself?
What you will also rarely see from the written press or hear from any TV commentary is the inclusion and importance of 'perspective' when comparing what (in their view) Labour have done, and are doing to Britain by challenging what huge damage the Conservative party did in their 14 years in power.
At the same time there should also be some level or gesture of fairness when informing the public on political matters with equal coverage of what Reform are doing to the division and cohesion in the UK with their clear toxic narrative.
It is only fair and morally correct to require journalists to be more professional about producing copy that may well be at the behest of the Multi-Millionaire owners of British newspapers - not necessarily owned by British citizens or corporations - own aims at maintaining the status quo of a historically biased imbalance of Tory views for many decades.
This would also suggest that this disproportionate imbalance is the real reason why the Conservative claim to be the most elected democratic party in the world, is more actually based on money than democracy.
Many will remember the once ambition of 'rogue' journalists going against the grain in their reporting, and the respect they were given for doing so - journalism is no longer a group of 'crusaders' looking to move the narrative away from the norm instead of just 'doing as they are told ' by rehashing yesterday's news once again.
The arrogance of this media is perfectly demonstrated when GB2GB contacted the i newspaper by respectfully requesting that they consider, in the light of their claim to be strictly non-partisan in their reporting, to include more equally based reporting from both sides of the debate in their editions to reinforce their claim.
Not surprisingly the only reaction from the i several days ago was a message stating that he was away from his office at the time - after many days and not receiving any response we can only suspect that like their sister newspaper the Daily Mail they will continue with the 'norm'. making them non-partisan only in their press releases stating that they were - and in their minds.
GB2GB Click Here will be asking members of the public to join our campaign and be a democratic force to make changes on how the media are allowed to behave and perform - after all, who else could ever hold to account the media in the last 50 years ONLY THE MEDIA!
We will be encouraging members of the general public, celebrities and non-multi millionaire based businesses to make their own individual views made to some of the powerful political, business and media targets selected who continue to profit from the bias being promoted by the media on their behalf.
To use a current phrase we want a COALITION OF THE WILLING to fight back.
