Across industries and life stages, women in particular are seeking spaces that offer encouragement, education, and authentic mentorship to help guide their journeys.Recently, we spoke with Mary Ann Faremouth, who is closely affiliated with WOVI, Inc. (Women of Visionary Influence). Mary Ann is honored as WOVI’s 2025 Pauline Shirley Mentor of the Year and recently spoke at the organization’s Annual Conference for Women, contributing to an event centered on empowerment, leadership, and self-discovery. Mary Ann is also a long time contributor on the Price of Business show, which is nationally syndicated by USA Business Radio.
In her presentation, Mary Ann shared the concept of a personal “North Star” as a guiding force in life and career. Just as travelers throughout history have relied on Polaris, the North Star, for constant direction, she encouraged attendees to recognize that their own North Star is rooted in their values and principles. These values remain steady through change and uncertainty, serving as an internal compass that guides decisions, actions, and long-term purpose.
The conference also featured interactive activities as well as additional inspiring voices, including sessions from leadership expert Julie Chance, who explored the “The Extraordinary Leadership Mindset,” and Bindu Bodanapu, who spoke on “Awaken[ing] the Goddess Within.” Together, their messages encouraged women to embrace mindset shifts, reconnect with strength, and step fully into their influential power.
