New York. July 26, 2024. In the 2020 election, Kamala Harris broke barriers by becoming the first female, first Jamaican, and first South Asian Vice President of the United States. Her historic achievement was celebrated by many, especially women who saw her success as a monumental step towards gender equality in politics. However, not all American women are convinced that Harris is the right leader for the country. While they acknowledge the importance of having a woman in a position of power, they argue that Harris is not the right woman for the job. Some see her as a San Francisco radical with misguided intentions.### Concerns Over Defunding the Police
One of the most significant points of contention among Harris's critics is her stance on law enforcement. Many women, particularly those in suburban and rural areas, express concern over her perceived support for defunding the police. While they agree reform is needed, particularly to add more resources to handle mental issues, that would mitigate loss of life during police responses. However, we cannot forget she supported financially Black
### Restricting Free Speech
Another area of concern is Harris's stance on free speech. Critics argue that her policies would lead to increased censorship and a suppression of dissenting voices. This is particularly troubling for those who value the First Amendment and fear that Harris's administration would stifle open dialogue and the free exchange of ideas especially against Christians.
Linda Roberts, a small business owner in Texas, shares her perspective: "Freedom of speech is fundamental to our Republic being able to scale. Kamala Harris's policies seem to favor a more controlled narrative, which is dangerous. We need leaders who protect our right to speak freely, not those who limit it."
### Discord in Communities of Color
Harris's critics also worry about her impact on communities of color, especially those with young Black males. Despite her identity as a woman of color, some believe that her policies would exacerbate existing tensions rather than alleviate them. As CA Attorney General she was not compassionate towards
Jessica Williams, an activist in Chicago, expresses her concerns: "As a woman of color, I wanted to support Kamala Harris. But her record and policies suggest that she might create more division. Our young Black men are already struggling. We need policies that support them, not ones that add to their challenges."
### Perceived Inauthenticity
Rebecca Green, a teacher from Florida, comments: "Kamala Harris seems to say whatever she thinks people want to hear. We need leaders who are consistent and genuine, not those who change their stance based on what's popular."
### Spiritual Concerns
Adding to the chorus of concern is Rev. Toni Yellowbird, an international religious leader who has spoken out against a potential Harris presidency. According to Yellowbird, Harris's policies would drive an erroneous agenda that goes against spiritual principles and would lead to increased lawlessness.
"Kamala Harris's vision for America is in direct conflict with God's law," says Yellowbird. "Her presidency would lead to increased spiritual lawlessness and a deviation from the moral values that this country has upheld. We need a leader who aligns with our spiritual beliefs as well as a Commander who is trusted which will cause investments in this nation to flourish, not one who contradicts them."
