In the Media section, a young writer shares his unfolding fascination with the Star Wars saga in an enthusiastic review of the latest episode, The Force Awakens.

Each issue of KidSpirit revolves around a Big Question posed by the magazine’s all-youth Editorial Board. This spring, a teen writer takes a deep dive into the ways in which some myths hold universal resonance.

Throughout the spring season, KidSpirit will publish more content about this evocative theme. One feature article will explore how Hindu mythology underlies the Indian caste system. Another will explore why fantasy is so compelling.

In the PerSpectives department, the only section of the magazine reserved for an adult writer with expertise in the theme, Dr. Maria Tartar will reflect on classical tales. Dr. Tartar, author of many books on folklore, is the John L. Loeb Professor of Germanic Languages and Literatures and Folklore and Mythology at Harvard University.
