Wiltshire, UK. Music Bugs®, who provide sensory preschool music and singing classes around the UK, have received over 5,000 registrations for their World Nursery Rhyme Week initiative in the opening week. Now in its third year and organised by Music Bugs, the week-long event celebrates the importance of nursery rhymes in early childhood development. Open to Early Years practitioners and parents around the world, participation and resources are free.Claire Bennett, founder of Music Bugs says, ‘We are delighted to organise this wonderful initiative again which continues to gain in popularity. We opened registration 1 week ago and have already exceeded registration numbers on previous years with more than 220,000 children signed up to take part so far. Primary schools, parents, nurseries, preschools, childminders, kindergartens and many other groups who work with children under the age of 7 are getting involved across the UK and abroad. We have received a lot of interest via social media this year which has been fantastic”.
World Nursery Rhyme Week focuses on the learning benefits of rhymes for young children. In particular, the initiative focuses on how rhymes can advance key developmental skills such as communication, language and literacy. Supported by Twinkl, and Piccolo Music who provide free resources for the event, details about the initiative can be found at:
