Tampa Bay Innovation Center Presents SBIR/STTR Seminar
Tampa Bay Innovation Center and Poynter present SBIR/STTR seminar

BriefingWire.com, 7/30/2013 - LARGO, Fla. – (July 29, 2013) – Tampa Bay Innovation Center, an innovation and entrepreneurship center for technology businesses, has joined with host sponsor Poynter and presenter Jim Greenwood, president of Greenwood Consulting Group, to offer the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) & Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs Seminar on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 at 8 a.m. at The Poynter Institute for Media Studies, 801 3rd St. South, St. Petersburg.

Greenwood, a national SBIR program consultant, will speak about how attendees can learn how to access a $2.5 billion federal research and development program. The seminar is designed for small technology-oriented companies, entrepreneurs/innovators and university faculty/development managers who are capable of engaging in innovative basic research and development with the specific goal of developing products for commercial markets or government customers.

The SBIR/STTR seminar will highlight marine and life science projects, although information related to all technologies will be covered. The implications of the re-authorization of SBIR and STTR will also be addressed.
