Registrations continue to soar for National Nursery Rhyme Week
Over 5,000 early years settings and parents sign up for National Nursery Rhyme Week which aims to celebrate the importance of nursery rhymes in early childhood development.

BriefingWire.com, 10/30/2013 - Music Bugs®, who provide sensory preschool music and singing classes around the UK, have received over 5,000 registrations for National Nursery Rhyme Week. The event, the first of its kind in the UK and sponsored by Music Bugs, will celebrate the importance of nursery rhymes in early childhood development and runs from 11th -15th November.

Claire Bennett, founder of Music Bugs says ‘We are delighted with the number of registrations we have received so far for National Nursery Rhyme Week. Primary schools, parents, nurseries, preschools, childminders and many other groups who work with the under 5’s are getting involved including registrations from early years practitioners abroad which is absolutely fantastic’. All resources made available for the event are provided free of charge.

Bennett adds, ‘It cannot be over emphasised how important nursery rhymes are in early childhood development. Rhymes provide children with the building blocks they need to develop key skills such as communication, language and literacy as well as social confidence and creativity. We want to dust off some of those long forgotten rhymes and get them back into daily use at home, the classroom and within early years groups’.

National Nursery Rhyme Week is supported by Twinkl, iChild and Piccolo Music who have all donated resources and backing for the event. Further details about the initiative can be found at:
